What is there to do in Cabo San Lucas?

It’s well known that Cabo San Lucas is a paradise of sun, sand, and clear blue water. For many people, that’s enough to spell out the perfect holiday, but if you’re just spending your time sunbathing on a beach, then you are missing out on the many wonderful things you can do in this paradise!

At High Tide Los Cabos, we offer several activities on our Los Cabos Adventure Tours, but before you get lost in all the choice, wondering which tour to book, here’s a list of some of the myriad things you can do in Cabo San Lucas!

El Arco

A trip to Los Cabos isn’t complete without going to see El Arco. We’ve even written a post about why you have to see the Arch! But here are some quick notes about why it’s a must see on your vacation. Firstly, El Arco is an absolute icon. This incredible rock formation is over three stories tall and it rises where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean. The clear and sheltered waters around El Arco make the area a haven for wildlife so, whilst you can see the arch from land, it’s highly recommended that you get into the water and up close to it! We love taking people stand up paddleboarding and snorkelling in the area and it makes for a wonderful adventure.

Cabo Pulmo National Park

Cabo Pulmo National Park is a protected area because of its unique biodiversity. Home to the only living coral reef in North America, it’s a spot that many divers will know about as famous marine biologist, Jacques Cousteau, once described it as the aquarium of the world. You don’t need to dive to enjoy the sea life here, though, as even if you’re simply snorkelling, you will oftentimes find yourself surrounded by a staggering amount of fish. Keep your eyes peeled for turtles (five different species live here!), weird and wonderful mollusc life, and colourful parrotfish and butterflyfish. If you take our private Cabo Pulmo jeep tour you can also explore some of the national park’s mountain trails and it’s beautiful desert landscapes.

Todos Santos

Todos Santos has been designated a “Pueblo Mágico” and it’s easy to see why when you see it in real life. The town is charmingly traditional, the houses are all brightly painted, and there are plenty of authentic hand-crafted wares and artworks in the many galleries for you to explore. Enjoy excellent cuisine here and visit the bright white mission and the art deco cinema which dates back to the 40s. If you’re keen on surfing, then the beaches at Todos Santos provide good breaks. And if you want to do everything you possibly can here, then check out our off road in Todos Santos jeep tour!

Fox Canyon

Fox Canyon is one of the best-kept secrets in Cabo San Lucas. It is a stunning jewel in the middle of the desert, a diverse ecosystem that will entrance you as you hike through it. There are incredible views spreading out in every direction and Fox Canyon is home to a plethora of plant and animal life. A beautiful river runs through it and there are plenty of fresh-water pools, natural water slides, and even a waterfall to enjoy as you hike here. If you take our hiking tour in Fox Canyon, our guides can teach you about the plant and insect life in the area, and make sure you find all the best spots in this oasis.

So there you have it, some of the best activities to do when you visit Cabo San Lucas! If any of our tours caught your fancy, or if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Your Cabo San Lucas adventure awaits!
