While we also love our calm waters for snorkeling and paddleboarding, we know the perfect spots to get good beginner waves if you’re ready to learn how to surf. We also know the best locations for intermediate or advanced surfers who want a professional coach to help improve their skills! One of our favorite Cabo surf lesson spots is at Cerritos on the Pacific side of the peninsula. This is the perfect spot if you’re staying in Cabo San Lucas instead of San Jose del Cabo.

Surfing in Cabo on the Pacific Side
Our Cabo surfing lessons at Cerritos show off this world-renowned surf spot with a beach break. Cerritos is exposed to northwest swells that can light up for days in super clean conditions. It’s a great spot not only for the experienced surfer but also for beginners. If you’re ready to try surfing in Cabo, our professional coaches will make you feel safe and confident as you get out and have some fun. As you walk from the tender pier through the pier security gate, turn right on the red sidewalk that borders the harbor. The Gali Plaza will be on your left, the water on your right. Walk approximately 20 yards to the Cruise Terminal building. The building will be on your left and has a sign saying API in blue letters. Enter the terminal building and walk to the far side where you will exit onto a parking lot. At the parking lot exit, you will see an Oxxo convenience store. Your guide will be waiting in front of the store.

The meeting point is at the Plaza Gali parking lot, which is located right in front of the Sandos Finisterra hotel. We will meet you in front of the OXXO convenience store which is located at the exit of the parking lot.

Our round trip transportation covers hotels in San Jose del Cabo, the corridor, and the Cabo San Lucas tourist area. You will be picked up approximately one hour before the start of your tour.
Upon booking, you can specify your exact hotel. Please contact us to confirm your specific time of pick up one day before your scheduled tour.
We do not offer transportation from hotels outside of the tourist area, such as Hard Rock, Nobu, or Four Seasons (these are approx. 50 min. away from the tourist area); for those hotels, we will pick you up at our standard meeting point:

We use foam boards for our surf lessons. If you prefer a fiberglass surfboard please be sure to request this in advance at the time of booking.
Yes, prices are the same for both children and adults. If we have children participating we always aim to have an extra guide for supervision. When you book your surf lesson, please specify whether the participants are children.
Your safety is our priority. When the conditions are not favorable, due to wind, high waves, or a tropical storm, we offer to change the day of your reservation or make a refund.
Our activities include transportation, within the center and hotel zone of San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas.
The hotels that do not include transportation because they are outside the city center are Hard Rock, Nobu, Diamante, Rancho Cabo San Lucas, Four Seasons, El Encanto de la Laguna, we can pick you up at our meeting point at the Oxxo in Plaza Gali which is located in front of the Sandos Finisterra hotel in Cabo San Lucas.

Pick-up times are assigned based on the location of your hotel or place of accommodation. Pick-ups start approximately one and a half hours before the scheduled activity time.
To join the lesson as an observer you have to book a non-surfer/companion spot on our transport. The non-surfer/companion fee includes round trip transportation, shaded camp (umbrellas and chairs), bottled water and snacks. You’ll be able to enjoy the beach at our camp while observing the surf lesson.
To book, simply select “observer (non-surfer)”.
We have two seasons for surf lessons, in the summer from March 15 to November 15, surf lessons are available on the Costa Azul. In winter from November 15 to March 15, we offer surf lessons at Cerritos beach
During the winter there are no waves on the Costa Azul beach, which is why the change is made to Cerritos beach.
No prior experience is required! Our classes are designed for all experience levels, from beginners (we teach you enough to catch a wave) to experts (we offer coaching), always ensuring a great experience at each level as needed.
For every 3 people in a class, there will be 1 guide/coach
Our activities take place on the beach, where there are no locker facilities. However, you can safely leave your personal belongings in the transportation.
Lunch is included. We’ll take you to a local restaurant, offering 100% Mexican dishes such as fish tacos, chicken, beef, salsa, guacamole, tortilla chips, and refreshing flavored water. We also have a vegetarian option with salads, quesadillas, beans, rice, etc. Lunch is included but optional, so there is no discount offered on the activity if you choose not to go for lunch.
As we know the weather is a factor that can lead us to modify our day, sometimes we will have to change location, reschedule and / or cancel (the refund will be issued 100% in case of cancellation by us). You will be informed of the options and you will make the decision. Factors that could influence this are rain, high swell, wind and jellyfish.
For a full refund, you must cancel at least 48 hours in advance of the start date of the experience. No show or last minute cancellation will be charged in full. This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
No, all transfers are complementary and optional, therefore the price doesn’t change if you don’t use the transfer option.
