Guests Love Our Surf Lessons & Kayak Tours!

Travel influencers Hudson and Emily had a fantastic trip to Baja California and loved their adventures with us at High Tide Los Cabos! Hudson joined us for a Cabo surfing experience at Cerritos. And then both Hudson and Emily took one of our Cabo snorkeling tours with our glass-bottom kayaks.

With their permission, we wanted to share their experiences here for you to enjoy! Here’s what Hudson wrote about his High Tide Los Cabos adventures…

Taking Surf Lessons at Cerritos

Surfing has always been one of those things that I wanted to try at least once in my life. I’ve always loved boogie boarding and body surfing so why not graduate to the real thing! So when we were in Cabo, Em and I booked a surf lesson with High Tide Los Cabos.

High Tide picked us up from our AirBnB in the morning and drove us a little over an hour away to a beach called Cerritos. The beach was amazing. I told Em that if we had a few more days I would love to stay out on this quiet desert beach. Besides mountains and cactuses, and a few hotels, there really isn’t much around it. But the beach is wide and the waves are a perfect size. There aren’t any coral reefs or rocks to worry about hitting in case you wiped out while surfing (trust me I tested it out many times 😉 )

Our surf guide Marco was incredible. I still am not sure how he carried two huge surf boards, beach chairs, a beach umbrella, and some other gear by himself to the beach! We were also very thankful that High Tide had wetsuits for us to wear.

We got a quick lesson on dry ground and hit the waves! Marco did a great job giving us tips and even pushing us to help us catch the waves. I don’t know how he had so much energy because I was getting tired just paddling on the board! Despite Marco’s teaching, I don’t think I am meant to be a pro surfer! I was able to stand up for a few waves but mostly we just have videos of me falling again, and again, and again. So maybe neither of us are surfers 😉 but we still had an amazing

The beach was beautiful and we were so thankful for the included meal afterwards. We must have worked up quite an appetite because chicken tacos never tasted so good! We got to sit by the beach and watch how real surfers ride waves. =) While we were watching them, we could see a couple whales spouting in the distance as they swam past!

I may not be a great surfer, but it was an amazing day and we are so thankful we got to experience surfing!

Snorkeling and Kayaking to the Arch in Cabo

See Hudson’s original post here

If you are in Los Cabos you have to see the arch, if nothing more than to say you’ve seen it! The Arch of Cabo San Lucas is one of the most iconic landmarks of the Baja peninsula. The only way to see the arch is by water. So we figured what better way to see this iconic landmark than by kayak!

High Tide Los Cabos is an amazing tour company in the Los Cabos area. They offer several different group and private Cabos tours. One of their most popular tours is this Cabo San Lucas kayaking trip. It was so nice being picked up from our AirBnB and dropped off on the beach. High Tide took care of everything. We never even had to worry about carrying our kayaks or snorkel gear!

The kayak tour was great and the perfect distance. The kayaks were nice and wide so they felt almost impossible to tip over. Our guides were extremely helpful! They took all the extra gear for us so all we had to do was have fun paddling. We made it to the arch and for a little while were the only ones there! Our guide was also a great photographer also, making sure every picture we could imagine!

We also loved the stop at Lover’s Beach on the way to the arch. This beach is only accessible by water and is right around the corner from the arch. The huge cliffs and white sand made for an incredible view!

On the way back, we stopped to snorkel. It was fun jumping off the kayak and seeing the schools of fish below the water. After we got back on the kayak, we were greeted by a gigantic humpback whale! Comparing his size to the kayak really put into perspective just how enormous whales can be. It was a perfect way to end our kayaking in Los Cabos!
